http://www.nec.edu/library
to make sure that the library is open when you want to use it.

Classes
Faculty may request library instruction for their classes.  Classes will be geared towards providing library overviews or  instruction on the materials and skills necessary for conducting research in specific disciplines.

Computer Lab
The library has a 30 seat computer lab (pcs) with Windows Office installed.

Consortium Memberships
NEC is a member of two library consortiums, GMILCS and NHCUC, which allow students to borrow materials from other colleges and libraries from around NH.  The Danforth Library catalog will search all of the GMILCS catalogs at one time for materials.  With a consortium library account (set this up from the library catalog page) you can borrow materials directly from the catalog without filling out interlibrary loan forms.  Links to NHCUC member library websites can be found at http://www.nhcuc.org.   To borrow materials from NHCUC libraries fill out an interlibrary loan form available on the library webpage.

OCLC
NEC also belongs to the OCLC worldwide network of libraries, which provides interlibrary loan access to many other library collections.

Library Resources

Books
Library materials are primarily chosen to support the college curriculum, and are organized by the Library of Congress classification system.  There are over 100,000 volumes, including the reference and research collections.

Periodicals
The library subscribes to a wide range of newspapers and scholarly journals, which can be found in the Considine Periodicals Reading Room.

Electronic Resources
The library has subscriptions to over thirty important research databases, which supply students and faculty with quick and easy access to a variety of journals, newspapers, and literature from around the world.  These resources can be accessed through the library's workstations, or at home using your NEC username and ID.

Non-Print Material
Videotapes, CDs and DVDs include music, plays, radio shows, and films, and are available to borrow from the Circlation Desk.
